Welcome to the
first issue of The
Enlightened Entertainer,
a weekly newsletter aimed at informing, inspiring, and
supporting you in realizing your highest vision in the
entertainment and media industry.
There’s a lot I want to share
with you, and we’ll get to all of it in due time.
But before we launch into all the tools and strategies
to becoming an enlightened entertainer and creating
a career that makes a meaningful contribution, I want
to take some time to lay the groundwork for what ‘conscious
entertainment’ is all about and why, if you want
it to be enlightening, it also needs to be entertaining.
I know you’re probably eager
to learn how to get more work, make more money, or sell
your entertainment/media products or services, but I
believe that having a larger context for your desires,
connected to a higher purpose, will ultimately give
you a stronger foundation from which you can truly launch
a long-term strategy for success.
So, without further ado, let’s
dive in…

What Is It? Why Do We Need It?
We think and live in story terms. Just watch your mind
during a crisis. Notice how you are at the center trying
to achieve some goal — like the protagonist in
a story — and how there are other voices in your
head, pushing, pulling, advising, rooting you on, shooting
you down, blocking your path, and guiding you along.
Some call this the inner Board of
Directors. But you could also call it the Cast of Characters
in this drama called your life.
Why do we dream in stories? Why do
therapists encourage us to tell our stories? Why are
we so drawn to stories in all their various forms? And
why is the entertainment industry one of the biggest
and fastest growing industries on the planet? I believe
it’s because story is the mechanism by which we
live, express, understand, and evolve.
Story is more than just equipment
for living — it’s life itself.
